What’s in your Closet – When darkness knows your secrets.

What’s in your closet? Does it define who you are? Is there a secret, a dare, a drug/alcohol based decision or affair…a night at the club gone bad or unsavory relationship with a friend, teacher or pastor who should have been the last one to lead you wrong…did you, unbeknown to the owner, “borrow” some money, jewelry or take an “unapproved loan”…how about a little lie, a story or tale that just went wrong…White, Black Orange or Gray…straight, gay it doesn’t matter either way! You see, that closet can hold all sorts of things that keep us bound to despair, and the ravaging, dark thoughts and memories we keep tightly guarded therein….

In that closet, hurt and pain hang there…It may be time for a serious spring cleaning and get those old dead remnants and burnt ashes of the ghosts of the past OUT! You don’t have to go public with anything, but if Darkness comes to regain its foothold in your life due to something you had in that closet…Own it, forgive it, release it, own it, correct it and/or FIGHT IT!!! You can’t live or move forward with pain, fear and despair on your shoulders!! They just weigh you down, slow you down, un-motivate you, tire you quickly…and all of that doesn’t allow you to find real happiness, quality of life and success!!

You’ve got to pick up the broken glass of years past and Stand Tall; knowing that the ground is solid beneath your feet and the winds beneath your wings are HIS if you only open your life to it! Our God is a loving God, a compassionate God whose ears are ever open to the cry of the afflicted…CALL ON HIM! Ask HIM for Love, Forgiveness, Assistance, Understanding, Direction, Health and live in and own your own truth! Live in the Light of His existence and you will not worry about what the darkness may bring! God’s armor will protect you! Trust in the Lord!

Remember…Perfection of character is NOT of this world! We have ALL done bad things…or had bad things done to us, some big, some small, some whatever…However, shame and hurt is real…and at times we feel we must hide things to protect ourselves, family, friends or so-called image…NEWS FLASH…WE ARE HUMAN, FLAWED AND UNPERFECTED!

Clean out that closet…Dont allow it to control your future…you see, the one thing about closets…..THEY CAN BE OPENED! And when it’s opened by you, you can clean it out! When opened by someone else be prepared! The best preparation…….LIVE IN YOUR OWN TRUTH!

 – Allow God to Govern

– Forgive yourself and ask the forgiveness of others

– Right old wrongs

– Let those who hurt you know they hurt you…they may not know….

– Do your best to strive for perfection, though we may never make it, how truly rewarding and self forgiving that journey will be! 

There is nothing better than a clean closet! Get started on yours today! 

– 1 John 1:9 Repent and confess our sins, God is faithful to forgive us. You need to take hold of this…Spend no more time struggling with guilt and condemnation! STOP IT! Stop trying to pay back what you did wrong with self inflicted pain and suffering when JESUS ALREADY DID THAT! Stop it and just make it right again! Start with forgiving yourself and anyone else…

– Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

– 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

– Isaiah 43:25-26 “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more. Review the past for me, let us argue the matter together; state the case for your innocence.

– Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

– Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.

– 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

– Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

– Hebrews 10:17 Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”

Ok…almost there…here we go, stay with me here…God’s unconditional love is very difficult to grasp…IT’S REAL and It’s free! In this world, there’s always payment for everything we receive. God is not like people! And the payment has been made through HIS Son…the reward of his Love is salvation! Love yourself enough to forgive….you see, whether or not you feel forgiven….you are…that’s God’s Love.

Clean that closet out and get out of your feelings! You can’t allow your feelings to have authority! Confess them…Yep, that’s mine, I own it…ask for forgiveness, accept, correct or delete it…then spring clean it! 

Ok, now let’s really get into this…The very next time you ask God for forgiveness and then feel guilty about it, open your mouth and scream, “God forgave me!!!.” Quote 1 John 1:9, but say it out loud! There is power in the spoken word/tongue! 

Understand that Praying & declaring the word/Scripture out loud not only helps renew the mind, it helps you stand firm, tall and strong in his word and it certainly puts the demon, devil in his place! Stand Tall, Confess and press forward with God’s Armor! This world will try to make you feel guilty even when innocent! So when you confess, get dressed in spiritual armor and firmly stand your ground, remembering- Love Conquers Condemnation

Family, friends…Don’t give in to your emotions…minister to them, manage them. Remember that every moment you are in Christ, YOU are a new person indeed!

So in closing! Clean it out…Clean out that closet and take an account of it. No one is perfect here! Be who you are in the light, in the dark and watch how God transforms your existence! 🙂 Powerful you are! You can do this…Be prepared for when that door is opened….how will you handle it, what will you allow them to find… Clean it out, clean it up, have it organized, any plan of action, let it start with the Lord. Wait on HIM 🙂

Stand Tall! God 1st! Strive for happiness in all you do! Allow the Lord to be the lamp which guides you and protects you in dark place while you seek to live in the light! Get there.

😉 Remember…The one thing about closets….they open. Clean them up.

  
Father in Heaven, we thank you for this word today! Vouch safe thine aid Oh Lord! Protect us from the evil intentions of our enemies and support us under the trials and afflictions we are destined to endure! Allow us to take care in forgiving others and ourselves and right the wrongs when we can. Walking with clear conscience, in social virtue. Amen
