Love: God 1st…It’s the internal not the external

It’s so easy to fall in love with the idea of a person, their job, what they have, how they look and not so much who they really are. Yes, some of these can play a part in your attraction…You might love the fact that he/she makes a lot of money, nice home/car or the way he/she looks without a shirt on, but those shallow details can change at any moments notice. Jobs go away, looks change, cars get old…It’s important to love the person for who they really are inside and out, how they make you feel and not just for the shallow silly things that you believe make you happy or look good to the others…
Love starts with God, falling in love with Him. Love, longevity, forgiveness and being real with who and where you are equals peace of mind….Happiness follows 🙂
It’s the internal not external qualifications of a person that will resist the tests of worldliness and time.

You see, love as described in the Bible is a bit different from the love given by the world. Biblical love is selfless, unconditional and forgiving whereas the world’s love is characterized by selfishness. In the following passages, we see that love does not exist apart from God and that true love can only be experienced by one who has experienced God’s own love first!

Romans 13:9–10, “The commandments, ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not covet,’ and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.”

John 13:34–35, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

1 John 4:16–19, “And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us

By 1st living God, one will learn to truly respect and love themselves. Once this happens, real love is understood and can be sought after and shared.

God 1st then the world! Stand Tall, pray together and love forever.
