Dream Quality not Quantity!

Good morning all…in our lives today we are constantly bombarded with the message that we should want more of this more of that, more more more! TV and radio tell us that our lives would be so much be better with more more more. The most important people in our lives family, friends, mentors, school teachers (all of whom truly only want the best for us) inspire us to work real hard, get good grades so that we can achieve….yes…more more more. Media outlets in particular and popular culture focus on those with “more” celebrities (reality TV stars, athletes, actors) etc etc…and for the most part entice us all to believe that More means better and that more means success. So making the case and deciding that we’d actually be happy with a bit less, can take…well……. a big adjustment.

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

1 Timothy 6:6-8

Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.

Ecclesiastes 5:12

Sweet is the sleep of a laborer, whether he eats little or much, but the full stomach of the rich will not let him sleep.

We’ve all heard the phrase…more money more problems right…which is usually the case…just follow most celebrities…then there is “I’d rather have more money for my problems”… Each carries its own case…the point I’m making is that slipping into a “more” mentality, regardless is a slippery slope and God tells us to beware of this.

When You see friends and family getting impressive opportunities-jobs and promotions, driving big cars and buying large houses, be careful not to get caught up comparing a humble life to their successes. Be very careful not to compare yourself to someone else’s version of success. God made you for your own unique journey! Absolutely be happy for your friends and family achievements, (No Hating) more importantly understand and be confident in yourself, your dream, your goals and your success model. I’ve seen too many people trying to keep up with the “Joneses” and the emperors, and end up in the ruins chasing more, more, more! It’s not all about being focused on material things, the crazy pace of the big city. You may concentrate on being healthier, take the time to cook whole meals from scratch. Cozy up with a small apartment outside the city with peaceful views, Be more pleasant to be around, not so stressed and anxious…. Its not about more money, more stuff and more success…it’s about being happier than you are right now, loving life, living with your quality model…bigger is NOT always better, and more more more is not always healthier… However…quality, peace of mind and fun, sprinkled with love always make the day feel better….dream quality, not quantity.

Now I know that everyone’s dream is not to have a quiet life. That’s ok…party, have fun, enjoy enjoy enjoy, we all need an outlet for expression and entertainment…I’m truly saying, be happy with whatever kind of life makes YOU happy! We all have to learn to let go of irrelevant expectations, stop the self-sabotage, listen to our hearts and do what feels right for US, keeping quality in mind. Because at the end of the day there is no one way to be happy or successful with searching your heart, mind and conscious, but the key is finding what you love and to love what you find and do… The formula for a good life is different for each of us, so do what you do, whispering quality in your voice and that more isn’t always the best choice.

Sometimes a quieter life is like a happy wife….as the dew drop clings to the breathing rose, with sweetness in every fold. What are your dreams and goals….whatever they are, shoot for what simply makes YOU…not family, not friends, not mother and father happy, but what really makes YOU happy! ITS NEVER TO LATE!!! Don’t stress yourself out on one race, it’s about the pace, the goal is to finish, improve, run again, and win! Remember it’s not about more more more…Dream quality, not quantity!

A small dream is better than no dream, so dream on!
