A Thanksgiving Day Prayer – Rev. Poe

A Thanksgiving Day Prayer, Rev Poe. Defender of the Faith Ministry

Let us Pray,

Lord, our Father, so often, as any other day when we sit down to our meal and pray
we hurry along and make fast the blessing, “Thanks, Amen,Now please pass the dressing…”
We’re slaves to the olfactory overload, we must rush our prayer before the food gets cold…

But Oh Lord, I’d like to take a few minutes more, To really give thanks to what We’re thankful for
Our families, our health, our nice soft beds, Our friends, our freedom, and the roofs over our heads…
We are soooo thankful right now Father to be surrounded by those Whose lives have touched us more than they’ll ever possibly know. We are Thankful Lord, that You’ve blessed us beyond every measure, And so Thankful that in our heart lives life’s greatest treasure! And That’s You Father, our God, dear Jesus, do reside in that place and We are all ever so grateful for Your unending goodness, protection and grace…

So please, heavenly Father, bless the hands that have prepared this food, this food we are about to receive and strengthen our hearts!! And thank you for all that You’ve provided
And bless each and every person invited!

The Poe Family.

Heavenly Father, on Thanksgiving Day We bow our hearts to You and pray.
We give You thanks for all You’ve done Especially for the gift of Jesus, Your Son.
For beauty in nature, Your glory we see For joy and health, friends and family,
For daily provision, Your mercy and care- These are the blessings You graciously share.
So today we offer this response of praise, With a promise to follow You all of our days.

Amen! Amen! Amen! and all God’s people dig in;)

Happy Thanksgiving Family and Friends!

‘Twas the night before Thanksgiving!

‘Twas the night of Thanksgiving,
But I just couldn’t sleep.
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep.

The leftovers beckoned –
The dark meat and white,
But I fought the temptation
With all of my might.

Tossing and turning with anticipation,
The thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen, flung open the door,
And gazed at the fridge, full of goodies galore.
Gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
Pickles and carrots, beans and tomatoes.

I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
‘Til all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling, floating into the sky,
With a mouthful of pudding and a handful of pie.
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees….
Happy eating to all – pass the cranberry sauce, please!

Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Serve the LORD with gladness:
come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the LORD he is God:
It is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
and into His courts with praise:
be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.
For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting;
and His truth endureth to all generations.

Have an outstanding Thanksgiving! And on behalf of the Poe Family, Defender of the Faith Ministries, Upon this Rock Ministries and all it’s partners we say to you all…God Bless you!;)
