Hell, Why? A deeper understanding!

Powerful you are for the Holy spirits resides in you and God above through you! You know sometime through all of the mechanics and background noise of organized religion some of the details are lost, especially in the subject areas of good and evil, Heaven and Hell. This is my attempt at digging into one such subject matter being that if Hell, so hold on strap down and here we go!

1. What happens when we leave this earth or die?

Our God created all humans as thinking, feeling, moral persons made up of spirit and body tightly joined together. Death was not to be normal or natural, but an enemy! Hello! the consequence of sin. Death is the tearing apart of these two intertwined parts, the end of relationship with loved ones, and the cessation of life on this earth. The body goes to the grave, and the spirit goes into an afterlife to face judgment. (The afterlife! Not heaven…ok different sermon, lets stay focused) The Bible is clear that there will one day be a bodily resurrection for everyone to either eternal life with God(Heaven) or eternal condemnation apart from him in hell. both of which are created by God…the Tri establishments(Heaven, Earth and Hell)

now….for those professing Christianity, Christianity differs from all religions in that Christians believe our eternal status depends on our relationship with Jesus. We really believe that “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” It may not be politically correct, but our lives are shaped by the reality that “whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” right? That’s right!

“Jesus talks about hell more than does anyone else in all of Scripture.”!!!!

Upon death, a believer’s spirit immediately goes to heaven to be with Jesus. Jesus gives us a picture of this in Luke 16:19–31 of existence after death. Lazarus, the godly beggar, goes to be with Abraham, while the self-indulgent rich man is in a place of torment! Hello! money cant buy you love and it surely CANT buy you salvation!!!!

Jesus, who has come back from death and is thus the expert on what awaits us on the other side, was emphatically clear that a day of judgment is coming when everyone will rise from their graves and stand before him for eternal sentencing to either worship in his kingdom or suffer in his hell. At the final judgment, all—even you—will stand before Jesus. Jesus’ followers whose names are written in the Book of Life will be with him forever. The Bible could not be clearer: “if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”

2. What judgment awaits non-Christians at the end of this life? Are you ready? Here we go…

A day is coming when God will judge the living and the dead through the Son. When the Son of Man comes to sit on his throne, all will stand before him for judgment. From the beginning of creation to the end, the Bible makes it clear that the basis of God’s judgment is our deeds.

Jesus made this very clear, saying in John 3:36, “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” Jesus’ death propitiated God’s wrath against sin. Those who refuse this gift have the double penalty of wrath for their sins and for rejecting God’s Son. Jesus himself taught this in John 3:18, saying,

“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” !!

Unlike Jesus’ words to the sheep, to the goats on his left he will say, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”

However, this does not mean that the relatively nice sinner suffers equally with Satan or his most committed human servants. There are degrees of punishment….HELLO!!! There are degrees of punishment in hell like there are degrees of reward in heaven. Both in life and in hell some sins receive more severe punishment, because that is just!!!!!!

3. Ok, What does Scripture teach about hell? Well….you ok thus far? Here we go…

As previously stated, Jesus talks about hell more than does anyone else in all of Scripture. Jesus’ words come in the context of the rest of Scripture, which says that God “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” Furthermore, he “is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

Despite God’s love for and patience with sinners, it is a horrid mistake to dismiss the Bible’s clear teachings on hell. Help me a little here…. Richard Niebuhr characterized the ongoing attempt of liberal Christians to deny hell as “a God without wrath brought men without sin into a kingdom without judgment through the ministrations of a Christ without a cross.” Jesus said more about hell than about any other topic. Amazingly, 13 percent of his sayings are about hell and judgment; more than half of his parables relate to the eternal judgment of sinners.

“Christianity differs from all religions in that Christians believe our eternal status depends on our relationship with Jesus.”…………

The Bible does not give us a detailed exposition of hell, but there are many descriptions of the fate of its inhabitants in that place of eternal punishment. And all to me are equally as BAD!!

They include:

1. fire

2. darkness

3. punishment

4. exclusion from God’s presence

5. restlessness

6. second death

7. weeping and gnashing of teeth

Satan will not reign there!!!!!! Here me, here we go…Satan will NOT reign there!!!! Hell is a place of punishment that God prepared for the Devil and his angels. It is where the beast and the false prophet and those who worship them will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength! Full dose! into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night…………..we don’t get enough rest now….imagine the above…

At the end of the age, the Devil will be “thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.” Hell will be ruled by Jesus! human and demon alike, including Satan, will be tormented there continually!!!! A full house cleaning!

“People who reject Jesus in this life will not rejoice in him after this life.”

Family……Hell is real and terrible experience and place…. It is eternal, forever…no coming back, game over, no time-outs, pity chits, im sorrys or can I try again, straight american idol, your out of here!!!! There is no possibility of amnesty or reprieve. Daniel says that some of the dead will be resurrected “to shame and everlasting contempt.” HELLO!! Did you understand what I just expressed… Jesus says, “Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels…And these will go away into eternal punishment.” Paul tells us:

God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.

Perhaps the clearest and most gripping depiction of hell in all of Scripture is the frequent mention of hell as “Gehenna.” The name refers to an area outside of the city of Jerusalem where idolatry and horrendous sin, including child sacrifice, were practiced…… Gehenna was a place so despised and cursed by God’s people that they turned it into the city dump where feces, refuse, and the dead bodies of criminals were stacked. Jesus spoke of Gehenna as the hellish final home of the wicked. Since Gehenna is described as a fiery abyss, clearly it is also the lake of fire to which all the godless will ultimately be eternally sentenced, together with Satan, demons, and unrepentant sinners….Here thus, feel this….UNREPENTANT SINNERS…thats many of your family, friends and associates..maybe even yourself….!! So when the Bible speaks of hell as a place where the fire is not quenched and the worm does not die, the original hearers would easily have remembered Gehenna, where this reality was ever present outside of their city.

Listen Family, life here on earth is to short…why would you want to even risk the idea of ending up in hell, when Our God is free, loving, caring…He will be with you when this world and man fails you…I would rather live everyday as if there is a God, than to Not…then Die…only to find out that there is a God…I know I know…you love your simply pleasures way to much…whisky, wine and woman, or for the ladies, you love that married man, broad shoulders and money, or you love this drugs and trail marks in your arms, or keeping a foul mouth of bad report…I know I know these things can be tempting :/………I Choose God! Heaven and Salvation…will you join me… It’s easy…

1. Pray about God touching your heart and helping you understand who the person of Jesus Christ is.

2. Read “John” in the new testament in the Bible. The Bible is split into 2 sections. The Old Testament (before Jesus’ time) and the New Testament (after Jesus was born).

3. Accept that Jesus is the only way to heaven as proclaimed in the new testament. Keep in mind that Jesus was prophesied by God’s people in the Old Testament (before the birth of Jesus). Look in the book of Isaiah. If you read “John” as true and you know Jesus was born of a virgin, suffered and dies for our sins on the cross, and rose again to sit with God the father, you are saved! The time is to turn your heart and mind to good things and pray that the spirit can help you stop doing things that you know to be wrong. Look for the bible for guidance and to the Lord for peace. You will sin as we are human but you will find less of a desire to do the things that harm others and yourself. You will grow closer to our God in Heaven!!

Or ………..

Romans 10:9

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

This is one of the most important verses in the entire Bible — It tells us the requirements to be saved!

Luke 6:46 Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

There are no ‘magic words’ to become a Christian. Remember — praying is talking to God, not just saying words. I suggest you pray this prayer:

****************Now…..repeat after me…….

Father God, I come to You right now, in the name of your most Holy Son, Jesus Christ, asking You to accept me as a Christian.

You say in Your word that if I confess my sins and ask forgiveness, You are faithful and will forgive my sins and remember them no more. You will not hold them against me and You will give me everlasting life.

Father, I confess that I have sinned against You. I have not followed Your commandments and I have broken Your laws. I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness.

Father, I believe that Jesus Christ, Your only Son, came to Earth and was born, that He lived among us, and that He was crucified to pay for our sins and for my sins. I believe that You raised Him from the dead and gave Him power over all creation.

Lord, right now I accept Your Son Jesus as my Savior and as the Lord of my life. Send the Holy Spirit to guide me, protect me, lead me and counsel me. Send Your angels to gather around me and protect me. Protect me from Satan and his evil forces. Help me grow in wisdom, knowledge and love for You and Your ways. Give me the strength and courage to change my ways and resist the Devil and avoid sin in the future.

Lord, I thank You for sending Your only Son to die so that I can live.

Jesus, I thank You in that You died for me while I was still a sinner and had not yet accepted You. I thank You for forgiving my sins and for bringing me to a saving knowledge of You. Please bless me and protect me. Teach me to pray. Guide me. Increase my faith, and make me sure in the knowledge that I can rely on You, no matter what may come. Lead me to a good church where I can learn Your word and the Father’s will, where I can fellowship with Christians and grow in my knowledge of You.

I ask these things in Your most holy and precious name, and I thank You for making me a Christian.

Amen!

If you earnestly prayed that prayer, you are now a Christian!

As a Christian, you have obligations. Christianity isn’t a “vaccine” you take once and everything stays the same. You must sincerely try to change your ways to avoid sin. God will help you do this. When you feel tempted to sin, immediately ask God for grace and strength to resist the Devil. If possible, get away from the temptation. Sometimes, this means you may have to avoid people or places you used to…don’t go it alone, find a good bible based church, denominational or non-denominational, get into a good bible study and remember to respect all religions a way to God….just not your chosen way, as it is now as a Christian 🙂

God bless you all!!! I hope this has helped someone understand a little bit more than yesterday or at least invoked thought.
